World famous pop singer Kylie Minogue was recently locked in a trade mark battle with lesser known Kylie Jenner (who appears in US reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians) over the name Kylie.
Kylie Jenner tried to register her first name “Kylie” in clothing and beauty trade mark classes for the merchandising arm of The Kardashians at the United States Patent and Trade Mark Office (USPTO) in 2014. Kylie Minogue logged an objection on the grounds of possible confusion and brand dilution.
The USPTO recently rejected Kylie Jenner’s application and the case was dismissed.
