Microsoft’s Patent Application uses Augmented Reality to Help Find Lost Items

Dawn Ellmore Employment - Microsoft patent application

One of Microsoft’s latest patent applications, No. 20160373570, details technology which can identify inanimate objects and allow them to be selected as tracked objects. The system would keep its eye on that object and react when it’s moved, as well as track objects that leave the field of view and then return in some other location or at a different time.  The patent can therefore help us keep track of things that we often spend a disproportionate amount of our time searching for e.g. keys, mobile phones etc.
